About the author

Welcome to the creative world of D. Stockwell, an author based in Florence, Kentucky, crafting rich stories across science fiction, fantasy, Christian fiction, and crime drama.

A lifelong passion for storytelling

I started writing at just fourteen years old. Over the years, I have taken enough advanced English coursework to easily earn a degree, but I chose to channel that knowledge and life experience directly into creative fiction. My mind is constantly filled with diverse narratives, which is why I refuse to confine my imagination to a single genre. Limiting my work would mean missing out on stories waiting to be told.

Shaped by real life and design

Before dedicating myself to fiction, I worked as a draftsman and designer, bringing structure and precision to many different projects. When hard times hit, I worked as a security guard to keep food on the table. Though I am currently retired and living with a disability, that hard-working spirit never left. I pour that same discipline, resilience, and attention to detail into every scene and chapter I craft.

Dedication to detail and depth

When you open any of my books, you can count on authentic, immersive storytelling. I meticulously research every character, setting, and critical plot point, leaving very little to chance. Whether exploring distant space, solving a tense crime, or navigating questions of faith, each story is grounded in thoughtful realism and genuine human emotion.
